Maternal smoking directly affects the outcome of the pregnancy and the health of the child.

Please be informed that smoking during pregnancy increases the risk of:

1. Preterm labor and delivery
2. Lower birth weight which may have long-term physical and intellectual defects
3. Newborn addiction and withdrawal symptoms
4. Stillbirth
5. Premature rupture of membranes
6. Abruption of the placenta
7. Bleeding during pregnancy
8. SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome)
9. Placenta Previa
10. Tubal Pregnancy
